Geriatric Care

As the human population continues to grow older, the need for Podiatric Geriatric Care is increasing every day. We at Foot & Ankle Doctors, Inc. pride ourselves on providing the very best and most advanced care to our growing number of elderly patients.

What is Geriatric Care?
Geriatric Care is also known as “elderly care”, and “senior health care”. It includes the process of planning and coordinating care for the elderly and others with physical and/or mental impairments to meet their long term care needs, improve their quality of life, and maintain their independence for as long as possible. This is accomplished by working with the patients and their families in managing, rendering, and referring various types of health and social care services. Within the field of Podiatry, this care includes everything relating to the patient’s lower extremities.

The elderly are at risk for many foot and ankle disorders that can, if not treated, leave them handicapped and dependent on others. These foot and ankle disorders include diabetic ulcers, arthritis, ingrown toenails, fungal nails, foot and ankle instability, tendon pathology, cellulitis, corns and calluses, and staff infections.

Our team of top podiatric doctors specialize in Geriatric Care and Limb Salvage and have years of experience treating all of these foot and ankle disorders. We are proud to provide our elderly patients with the most advanced Geriatric Care in the field of Podiatry today. It is this promise of excellence to our elderly patients that has led us to creating our very own Fall Prevention program.

Our Fall Prevention Program has one main goal: to help stabilize patients and reduce the number of injuries and deaths that occur as a result of falling. We have many ways to do this, including a professional Fall Assessment done by our Physicians. For more information on our Fall Prevention Program, please contact alison@footnankledoc.com, or give us a call at 310.652.3668.

and anything else relating to the health, care, and treatment of the foot and ankle.
